Young Lawyers Leadership Forum 2026 Successfully Held

On 24 June 2026, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, in cooperation with the International Law Committee of the Mongolian Bar Association and the Open Society Forum, successfully organized the Young Lawyers Leadership Forum 2026.

The forum aimed to strengthen the leadership and professional skills of young lawyers, deepen their understanding of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law, and provide a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences.

During the forum, participants discussed the role of international organizations in supporting the professional development of lawyers and explored opportunities for future cooperation. Mr. S. Amarmend, representing the Hanns Seidel Foundation, introduced the Foundation’s ongoing programs and highlighted various opportunities available to young legal professionals, with particular emphasis on its scholarship programs.

As part of the forum, the winners of the essay competition were announced. The first- and second-place recipients were awarded scholarships to participate in the AIJA Regional Meeting 2026, organized by the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA). In addition, they received one-year scholarships to attend the German language course offered by the Hanns Seidel Foundation free of charge.

The third- and fourth-place winners received cash prizes, while the fifth- and sixth-place winners were awarded complimentary one-year and six-month subscriptions to the Legadata.mn legal information platform.

The Young Lawyers Leadership Forum 2026 served as an important platform for promoting leadership among young legal professionals, strengthening international cooperation, and encouraging professional development within Mongolia’s legal community.
