Publicity Event Regarding Constitutional Revisions

The Hanns-Seidel-Foundation and the Embassy of Mongolia in Berlin organized an online information event on 2 December about the constitutional revision in Mongolia, which was adopted on 14 November 2019.

The event was opened with a speech by the Ambassador of Mongolia in Berlin, Mr. D. Ganbat. This was followed by presentations by Prof. Dr. D. Lundeejantsan - Senior Advisor to the President of the Grand State Khural (Parliament) -, Prof. Dr. Ts. Sarantuya and Prof. Dr. T. Stein - former Professor of European Law and European Public Law at Saarland University - and a question and answer session.

 

More than 40 academic representatives, including Mongolians, researchers and students, participated in the event and exchanged their views on specific issues, including constitutional changes regarding political parties, ensuring the transparency of their financing, the competences of local self-government bodies and the specifics of appeals to the Constitutional Court of Mongolia.
