Open day 'Let's protect the children'
On May 30, 2024, a significant event was held in Janjin Sukhbaatar Square to mark the 'International Children's Rights Day'. The Mongolian police and the national internal military force jointly organized the open day under the motto 'Let's protect the children'. This event aimed to educate children, young people and citizens about the harmful effects of environmental crimes and to promote their prevention.
The event offered a variety of activities and attractions. Sports competitions were organized where children and young people could compete in various disciplines. There were also exhibitions of police cars, art and cultural programs, providing entertainment and education at the same time.
The WWF in Mongolia was involved in this. It also distributed books and flyers about the six wonders of the Gobi to visitors.
Supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation, the environmental police also produced three informative videos. These videos were shown as part of the event and aimed to raise citizens' legal and ecological awareness. They served to educate and prevent environmental crimes and were shown to around 670 interested visitors.
Overall, the 'Let's protect the children' open day was a great success. It helped to raise awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and showed how important community involvement is.
