In its almost 30 years of activity in Mongolia, the Foundation has advised the country's government, in particular the Ministry of Justice, on the drafting of more than ten fundamental laws of public law. The HSS also supported the national partners, for example, through training measures for judges, lawyers and civil servants, the joint organization of international scientific conferences in the academic field, the dissemination of legal awareness among the public, the exchange of lawyers from both countries, scholarships and the publication and support of specialist legal publications. In the ninth project phase 2022 - 2024, the area of intervention will be expanded to include support measures for the implementation of environmental legislation.
The new project manager Mr. Felix Glenk studied 'Public Management' at the University of Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg and graduated from the Seoul National University, Graduate School of Public Administration. From 2014 until his secondment to Mongolia, he held various positions at Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea and was mainly involved in projects promoting reconciliation and peace on the Korean peninsula.
After an exchange with the outgoing representative, Mr. Glenk explained: "The Hanns-Seidel-Foundation has been working very successfully in Mongolia for almost 30 years. The project was set up by Dr. Sarantuya and it is thanks to her that we can look back today and see all the achievements and positive developments in the legal field. Now, of course, it is an even greater responsibility and honor to represent HSS in Mongolia as her successor. We want to continue the successful work in the legal field, but also take up new topics, e.g. when it comes to environmental issues or climate change as a global challenge. We look forward to a positive and trusting collaboration with our partners in the coming years."
