Legal Mentors of all Aimags Trained

On 14 February 2018, the government of Mongolia adopted the 'National Program for Increasing Legal Awareness of the General Public'. According to the corresponding government resolution, the National Institute of Law is responsible for its implementation.

According to § 3.2.6 of the above-mentioned programme, all governmental and non-governmental organizations are mandated to employ specially trained legal mentors for citizens in their own areas of responsibility. Since 2008, the employees appointed as legal mentors in the aimags (regions) and in the capital have been gradually trained each year.

In the period 2-3 November 2021, the Institute of Law successfully organized the regular 'Legal Mentor Training' with the support of HSS in the city of Ulgii, Bayan-Ulgii Aimag. Bayan-Ulgii was thus the last aimag where the above-mentioned training was organized.

The training was led by teachers such as Mr. V. Enkhtamir - Head of the Department of Legal Education, Information and Publicity, Prof. Dr. A. Altanzul - Professor of the Management Academy - and teachers from the National Institute of Law.

After the intensive two-day course, the legal mentors received certificates of participation.

Since 2018, more than 1650 citizens have been trained as legal mentors through 30 training courses.
