Conference on the Topic: “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE LEGAL SYSTEM”
Among the participants was Prof. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf from the University of Würzburg (Germany). Due to health reasons, his lecture on “Digitalization in the German Legal System” was delivered by Felix Glenk, the representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Mongolia.
The opening speeches were delivered by:
- M. Erdenebayar, Director of the Faculty of Law at the International University of Ulaanbaatar,
- N. Jamyankhuu, Head of the Department for Legal Policy at the Ministry of Justice of Mongolia,
- and Han Yeong Soo, President of the Korean Institute for Legal Research.
The following participants gave presentations during the conference:
- N. Jamyankhuu on “The Use of Artificial Intelligence and the National Legal System,”
- G. Davaadorj, Chair of the Civil Law Committee of the Mongolian Bar Association and judge, on “Current Status and Developments in the Legal Sector Regarding Artificial Intelligence,”
- Park Songyi, Director of the Legislative Cooperation Department at the South Korean Ministry of Justice, on “Concept and Characteristics of the South Korean AI Law,”
- M. Erdenebayar, B. Munkhdorj (Head of the Research Division at the Prosecutor General’s Office), and Z. Sansarzolboo (PhD candidate at the Police University) on “Use of Modern IT for the Compilation of Crime Statistics in Mongolia According to International Classifications,”
- Darshini Ramiah, Senior Manager for AI and Security at the Media Development Authority of Singapore, on “Artificial Intelligence Approaches in the Administration of Singapore.”
The conference was moderated by O. Amarsanaa, Director of the Mongolian-Korean Legal Research Institute.
Additional experts such as:
- B. Enkhbold, member of the National Human Rights Commission,
- Park Se-hun, Head of the Department for Innovation, Finance, and Legislation at the South Korean State Legal Research Institute,
- and J. Boldbaatar, member of the Young Academy of Sciences,
shared insights into ongoing initiatives and projects in Mongolia related to the conference topic.
The conference concluded with a speech by Sh. Jolbars, Director of the Administrative Office of the Mongolian Bar Association, who promised to compile all suggestions and remarks made during the conference and forward them to the relevant authorities.
