Conference on “Children – Active human rights defenders” held successfully
The Hanns Seidel Foundation (Hanns Seidel Foundation) places special importance on child rights and protection in its future activities and contributes to strengthening a child-friendly legal environment in Mongolia. In this regard, the National Human Rights Commission and relevant partner organizations jointly organized and actively supported the event.
The conference emphasized that ensuring children’s meaningful participation, listening to their voices, and involving them in decision-making processes are key values of a democratic society.
It was further highlighted, in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, that children have the right to freely express their views on matters affecting them, and these views must be respected. The discussions also addressed current challenges faced by children, including peer bullying, online harassment, and discrimination, and underlined that mutual understanding, listening, and peer support are among the strongest forms of protection.
At the conclusion of the conference, children consolidated their ideas and prepared recommendations to be submitted to relevant institutions. The event marked an important contribution to transforming children’s participation into meaningful action and fostering a new generation equipped with human rights knowledge and responsibility.
