Accession to international agreements
At the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), the delegation discussed the possibilities of a stronger integration of Mongolia into the relevant agreements of the organization. This aims to strengthen the rule of law in Mongolia and improve the international legal framework.
Cooperation and exchange
The Asser Institute, a renowned research institute for international law, offered the delegation insights into its work and opportunities for cooperation. The focus was on the exchange between Mongolian and international lawyers in order to promote Mongolia's expertise in the field of international law.
Cooperation in criminal matters
The delegation discussed possibilities for closer cooperation in criminal matters with Eurojust, the European Union's agency for judicial cooperation in criminal matters. This includes combating cross-border crime and improving mutual legal assistance between Mongolia and Europe.
Presentation of the International Court of Justice
The visit to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) gave the delegation an insight into the tasks and structure of the most important court of the United Nations. The delegation learned about the ICJ's procedures and its role in the peaceful settlement of international disputes.
Dialog with additional partners
In talks with the German Embassy and the Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague, the delegation exchanged views on the current status of the rule of law in Mongolia.
Continuation of the commitment
The trip of the Mongolian legal delegation to Europe underlines the importance of international cooperation in the area of the rule of law. The Hanns-Seidel-Foundation will continue its efforts to strengthen the Mongolian judiciary and to promote exchange with international partners.
