Environmentally Friendly Tourism and Prevention of Environmental Crimes

On April 26, 2022, an interdisciplinary discussion event on 'Environmentally friendly tourism & prevention of environmental offenses and crimes' took place in Khentii Aimag.

During the event, the possibilities for developing an environmentally friendly tourism industry, strategies for preventing environmental crimes, ensuring the enforcement of environmentally relevant legislation and improving cooperation between environmental protection authorities were discussed. Joint short and long-term measures were also discussed.

 

The interdisciplinary discussion event was opened by a speech from the head of the Crime Prevention Committee, Ms. L. Nyamgerel, the head of the Citizens' Representative Assembly, Mr. J. Batbayasgalan, and Mr. Felix Glenk.

Participants in the two-day discussion included the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Supreme Judicial Council, the National Forensic Institute, the Environmental Police, deputies from the citizens' assemblies of the Khentii, Selenge, Dornod and Sukhbaatar provinces, court, prosecutor and police representatives from the aforementioned regions, as well as representatives from the WWF and HSS.
