Law and Digitalization: Challenges and Perspectives

As part of the cooperation between the Management Academy and the Hanns Seidel Foundation Germany, a scientific discussion event was held on January 30, 2025, at the Faculty of Law of the Management Academy. The event provided a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and focused on current legal challenges and developments.

In addition to engaging expert lectures and presented research papers, a lively and open discussion enriched the event. Scientists, researchers, and representatives of public administration shared new insights and innovative solutions, leading to an in-depth and productive dialogue on the discussed topics.

Renowned Speakers and Exciting Topics

The event featured distinguished experts from various fields:

  • Prof. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf, Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Legal Theory, Information Law, and Legal Informatics at the University of Würzburg, gave a lecture on "Corruption as a Challenge for the Rule of Law", highlighting the impact of anti-corruption measures on legal systems.
  • Prof. Dr. Lumingu Manzanza, Professor at the University of Kikwit (Democratic Republic of Congo), presented the topic "Supply Chain Regulations from the Perspective of Production Countries" and discussed the challenges of global supply chains.
  • Dr. Severin Löffler, lawyer and partner at the law firm Jordan & Dr. Aufferman in Würzburg, provided valuable insights into the impact of digitalization on legal practice in his lecture "Digitalization and the Legal Profession – A Report from Practice".
  • Nicolas Härtlein, doctoral candidate at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg, spoke about "The Dangers of Digitalization: Deepfakes and Criminal Law" and addressed the legal challenges of manipulated media content.

Interactive Exchange and Conclusion

At the end of the event, participants had the opportunity to ask further questions and share their perspectives in an open Q&A session. The high level of engagement and intensive dialogue highlighted the relevance of the discussed topics and the great interest in interdisciplinary knowledge exchange.

The scientific event was a great success and once again underscored the importance of collaboration between academia, practice, and administration. The cooperation between the Management Academy and the Hanns Seidel Foundation Germany thus makes a valuable contribution to promoting legal and socio-political discourse.
