The Hanns Seidel Foundation supported the event, which was organized by the Mongolian Environmental Civil Council in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
During the discussion, representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations, private companies, and citizen advocacy groups gave presentations based on their own perspectives and research, and shared their insights and viewpoints with each other.
The discussion highlighted the urgent need for a unified database to track the implementation of international environmental agreements and conventions to which Mongolia is a party. The current fragmentation of information means that citizens are not adequately informed, and researchers have difficulty accessing relevant data. It was therefore unanimously recommended that the relevant government agency actively promote the creation of a central database. Such a measure would not only improve the transparency and availability of environmental information but also increase public awareness and enable the government to respond more effectively to environmental issues. Consequently, the following recommendation was formulated and will be submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
These recommendations should help to make the implementation of international agreements more effective and contribute to the protection of the environment in Mongolia.
