Sustainable development

The annual water conference in Khuvsgul province was organized this year as part of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as training and consultation on the topic of 'Sustainable development is our future'.

 

 

 

The conference was organized by the Khuvsgul Club and Eco Mami NUTBB of Khuvsgul Province with the support of the Government of Khusvgul Province, the Environment Department for East Asia of UNESCO, the Hanns Seidel Foundation, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Consulting Engineering Office for Groundwater, and the Rotary Club of Bautzen.

 

The consultation took place on November 17, 2023 in Khuvsgul Province TG on the topic of sustainable development and ways to ensure it. R. Sunjidmaa, Senior Specialist of the Ecological Education Center of MU, Doctor of Science, spoke on “Ecological Traces and Sustainable Development”, climate scientist Dr. E. Bayarjargal on “Sustainable Development is more important than the agenda of the parties”, L. Azzaya, Governor of Sum Burentogtok of Khuvsgul Province, on “How to coordinate sustainable development in local activities? “, D. Gereltuya, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ECO MAMA NUTBB, on ‘Cooperation of women is a pioneering force of society for sustainable development’, B. Ganchimeg, founder of ATK company, supplier of secondary raw materials, on ‘Sustainable development and economic opportunities’ presented their reports. A discussion was held on the structure and mindset of local people, cooperation between government, social organizations and citizens to ensure participation and improvement of ESD.

The second day of the consultation continued with trainings for target groups on ESD delivery methodology, gender equality, ways to ensure equal rights and environmental sustainability and responsibility. The trainings were conducted by R. Sunjidmaa, Senior Specialist of the Ecological Education Center of MU, Doctor of Science, Sh. Ariunaa, PhD student, Head of the NGO 'Mongolian Women's Labor Support Association', Deputy Director of the University School of Law, Doctor of Law, Professor Ts. Tselmeg.

 

The training and consultation was attended by over 200 people, including representatives of Khuvsgul and Sumy province, representatives of the National Assembly, civil society, citizens, teachers and educators. Sustainable development, education for sustainable development, cooperation between the state and citizens, legal regulations of the environment, implementation and environmental problems in Khuvsgul province were discussed and solutions were debated.
