Regional Center for Expertise in Environmental Protection

The Regional Center of Expertise (RCE) aims to achieve long-term sustainable development goals, such as environmental leadership, social justice and improving the quality of life, which contribute to solving global problems at the local and regional level through their functions and interests.

During the meeting, which was organized by the Environmental Education Center of the National University of Mongolia (NUM), the participants learned about the work of educational and research institutions active in this field and exchanged information about the Regional Education Center for Sustainable Development (RCE). In addition, the stakeholders expressed their interest in participating in the establishment of the RCE in Mongolia and discussed the necessary steps for this. 

 

Since 2022, the Hanns Seidel Foundation has been working with the NUM's Environmental Education Center to raise public awareness of environmental protection and environmental legislation. In this context, numerous activities in the field of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) have been jointly organized.

The meeting was attended by: MUSU Department of Biology, MUSU Department of Lifelong Learning and Distance Education, Hanns Seidel Foundation, State Forestry Agency, NGO People-Centered Nature Conservation, NGO Khom Takhi Tah, Environmental Information Training Center NGOs, the United Nations, National University of Science and Technology, NGO for Migration Nature Conservation, Freshwater Conservation Center, and the Mongolian Government.
