In his opening speech, Court President D. Ganzorig emphasized the importance of the exchange of expertise on current, controversial legal issues, especially after the amendment of the Judicial Constitution Act, which caused heated discussions and disputes in the legal community regarding citizens' right of appeal and the jurisdiction of the court.
Mr. Felix Glenk and Mr. Matthew Ferens, representative of the Embassy of the United States, gave short speeches.
At the invitation of the Foundation, Prof. Dr. Peter Kasiske - Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Commercial Criminal Law at the University of Augsburg - took part in the conference as keynote speaker.
The conference was attended by judges from all of the country's courts as well as members of parliament, legal policy advisors to the President, members of the Supreme Judicial Council and academic representatives from Germany, the USA and Singapore.
