Workshop
Expert exchange on geopolitics and security in Northeast Asia

A gathering of researchers and analysts from the Northeast Asian countries in Ulaanbaatar provided a platform for discussion on the region's current geopolitical and security challenges. Around 30 participants from Mongolia, Korea, India, Germany and Poland took part in the workshop, which ran over seven sessions.

Each session was led by a Mongolian and an international expert, who explained the specific challenges of the countries in the region. Open discussions were then encouraged to explore a wide range of perspectives and solutions.

A highlight of the workshop was the opportunity for international experts to go on an excursion to the border town of Zamiin-Uud. There, they were able to learn first-hand about the challenges facing Mongolia's border region, including the project to establish a free trade zone and the activities of the border protection authority. This experience helped to deepen the understanding of current developments in the region and promoted the exchange of best practices and ideas on security and stability in Northeast Asia.
