Digitization of the German police

Crime on the internet is increasing rapidly every day these days. The digitalization of police work is therefore both a major task and a challenge. For this reason, an international conference was held in Bavaria on the topic of “Digitalization in the training and further education of the German police”.

Mr. Erdenedalai.B, Police Major and Head of the International Cooperation Department and Peace Building Program, and Mr. Mungunshagai.G, Police Lieutenant and expert at the University of Internal Affairs of Mongolia, represented Mongolia at the event, which was organized by the Bavarian State Police in cooperation with the Hanns Seidel Foundation.

The conference took place at the Bavarian Police Training Institute in Königsbrunn and Ainring. The role of digitalization in police training and further education was discussed intensively. A total of 80 police officers and teachers participated in the event organized by the Bavarian Riot Police Presidium on-site at the institute, with an additional 100 connected online via video conference. Experts from twelve countries, from Argentina to Thailand and from Estonia to Switzerland, as well as from several German federal states, were represented in Ainring and shared their insights into the challenges and opportunities that digitalization brings for police work worldwide.

During the conference, the participants learned about the activities of the police organization of the Free State of Bavaria, including, the modular training system - the coordination of theoretical and practical training, electronic tools introduced in theoretical and practical training, citizen-centered policing - a project of the Hanns Seidel Foundation, the cooperation of the public prosecutor's office and police operations. There were interesting presentations and discussions on topics such as citizen-centric operational trends, state security, the use of artificial intelligence in operations to improve police operational outcomes, and privacy and security issues during the electronic transition.

International best practices and information on the efficient use of information technology in the activities of their organizations were discussed.
