Information event
Digitalization in the justice sector

In line with the digitalization policy in the legal sector of the Mongolian government, the Hanns Seidel Foundation in cooperation with the Juidcal General Council of Mongolia organized an information event on 'Digitalization Policy in the Judicial Sector'.

The hybrid event was initiated by former HSS scholarship holders.  Prof. Dr. Dr. Eric Hilgendorf, Professor of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Legal Theory, Information Law and Legal Informatics at JMU Würzburg, gave a lecture on the topic of 'Bavarian digitization policy in the justice sector' in online format and Ms Baasanjaw.N, member of the Mongolian Judicial Council, on the topic of 'Digitization in the Mongolian judiciary' in presence.

“In order to further develop digitalization in the Mongolian judicial sector, a unified system and a database used by the judiciary is needed. In addition, the day-to-day manual work needs to be reduced and an automatic, unified system needs to be developed,” emphasized Ms. Ononchimeg. R, the head of the Mongolian Judicial Council.

Mr Sainzorig.P expressed the importance of digitalization in the justice sector. It is important to make the activities of the judiciary more transparent and accessible to citizens through the digitization of the judiciary and to eliminate the instruments that damage the reputation of lawyers.

The decision-makers hope that digitalization will be further developed despite the great time and financial effort involved. However, data protection should not be neglected in the process.
