International legal conference

The fifth international conference on fundamental problems of constitutional, administrative and commercial law topics was held on March 20, 2020 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The event was a joint initiative of the Graduate School of Law of Nagoya University and the School of Law of the National University of Mongolia.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation, The Constitutional Court, the Training and Research Institute of the Supreme Court, the Constitutional Institute of the National University, the Chimid Foundation, the electronic legal environment Legal Data and other organizations supported the event. In addition to in-person speakers, some speakers and participants also took part in the conference virtually. Scholars from Mongolia, Japan, Germany, Korea, Uzbekistan and Russia shared their research findings and participated in discussion panels during the conference.

Among the speakers was Professor Foroud Shirvani from the University of Bonn in Germany. He gave an online lecture on the topic of "Digitalization of administrative court proceedings". Digitalization is currently a very important topic in Germany and there is hope to integrate technological advances more into everyday life. Other topics included judicial autonomy, constitutional amendments, the legal status of non-human subjects, practices in contracts and executive agreements, competition law challenges, land use regulations, legal concerns regarding official inaction and administrative court proceedings.
