The HSS has been promoting the exchange of expertise and knowledge transfer between German and Mongolian legal experts, including in the field of criminal law, since the beginning of its activities in Mongolia. After a long standstill since 2018 due to the Covid19 pandemic, there was finally an event in presence again.

During his assignment, he held numerous specialist exchanges with various partner organizations of the Foundation on current criminal law issues.

To kick off his visit, he took part in a discussion on the topic of "Development trends in German criminal law" for members of the Mongolian Lawyers' Association.

He then led seminars and technical discussions with lecturers from the Faculty of Law at the National University, with young researchers from the Supreme Court and the National Institute of Law, with lecturers from the University of Internal Affairs and with judges from the country's Supreme Court.

In addition to the numerous specialist discussions and seminars, he and Mr Felix Glenk visited the juvenile detention centre and the Centre for Compulsory Medical Treatment and Resocialization.

At the end of his assignment, he took part in the international academic conference "Access to Justice: The function and power of the supreme court" as a keynote speaker and provided a systematic insight into the German appeal court procedure.
