"Engaging Youth in Nature - Laws of the Environment – III"

The opening of the project "Engaging Youth in Nature - Laws of the Environment - III", supported by the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation, took place today. It is now in its third year.

Hanns-Seidel-Foundation has been supporting the 'Engaging Youth in Nature - Laws of the Environment - III' program since 2022. In the past two years, students from the remote state districts of Chingeltei, Bayanzurkh, and Songinokhairkhan took part. This year, 2500 students from remote schools in Bayanzurkh and Khan-Uul districts can participate. The Member of Parliament, Ms. Bulgantuya, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, is sponsoring the program for the third year.

 

In 2023, the 'Environmental Law' room was equipped as part of the 'Engaging Youth in Nature - Laws of the Environment' project with the support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. In this context, the new training program 'Let Me Come Alive' was developed and implemented. This program deals with the damage caused by environmental crime and administrative offenses, their legal consequences, and preventive measures against environmental crimes. A total of 9,000 children and adults attended the training in this room.

 

The pupils who will participate in the program in 2024 will have the opportunity to visit the stations 'On the trail of the invisible', 'Let me come alive', 'A greenhouse' and 'The forest is like...'. The total duration of the trip is 2 hours.

 

The first students in the III project phase were from the 8th grade of School 69 in the Bayanzurkh state district.

E, Secretary General of the UN Association of Mongolia, Mr. Galtaikhuu.G, Head of the Environmental Civil Council of Mongolia, Ms. Dulmaa, Member of the Environmental Civil Council of Mongolia, Ms. Bolor-Erdene.U, Program Manager of the Christina Noble Children's Foundation, and Mr. Shinebaatar.N, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department, Environmental Police, participated.
