Visit of the delegation
Bilateral cooperation in the police sector

From October 23 to 27, 2023, officials from the police forces of Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hamburg paid an official visit to Mongolia. The event was organized by HSS Mongolia, the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs and the Coordination Council for Crime Prevention in Mongolia.

During the delegation's stay, they visited the following partner institutions:
 

  • Coordination Council for Crime Prevention in Mongolia
  • General Police
  • Environmental Police
  • University of Internal Affairs
  • Training Center for Mongolian Police Officers and Military.
  • National Forensic Agency

During the visit, the participants were familiarized with the structure and function of the respective organizations

On October 23, 2023, the first meeting between the General Police of Mongolia and police representatives from Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hamburg took place. The welcome meeting was chaired by Colonel O. Ganbat, Deputy Head of the General Police and Head of the Main Directorate of the Mongolian City Police, as well as other heads of various police authorities. Possible opportunities for cooperation were discussed.

 

The participants then took part in a joint workshop on “Police in Mongolia and Germany: challenges and opportunities” at the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia. Similarities and differences in police work in both countries were explored. The presentations from the Mongolian side covered police guidelines, activities and prevention methods in environmental protection, criminal proceedings and the tasks of the national forensics authority in the prevention and prosecution of criminal offenses. The session continued with an open discussion and ended with the closing remarks by Mr. Felix Glenk, representative of HSS Mongolia.

 

On the second day, the police delegation visited the training center for police officers and domestic military forces, the environmental police, the National Forensic Agency and the University of Internal Affairs. They discussed the respective activities and the structure of the Mongolian police institutions and were given a detailed insight. The parties discussed potential joint training courses and seminars on combating environmental crime. A visit to Khustai National Park was also part of the program.
