The new Handbook for Rangers

Within the framework of the Hanns Seidel Foundation’s National Scholarship Program (2024), scholarship recipient and program participant T. Tseren successfully conducted a study on the legal status of rangers working in Mongolia, covering their rights, duties, responsibilities, and mandates.

Based on the findings of this comprehensive research, in 2025 the scholarship holder developed a practical legal handbook for rangers, compiled in a way that can be directly used in their day-to-day work.

At T. Tseren’s initiative, the Hanns Seidel Foundation supported the publication and printing of this handbook.

The main objective of the handbook is to strengthen rangers’ legal knowledge and understanding, helping them better recognize their rights, duties, and areas of responsibility. It is expected to improve the implementation of environmental legislation on the ground, enhance the overall effectiveness of nature protection efforts, and contribute to greater occupational safety while carrying out ranger duties.

The Hanns Seidel Foundation will continue to support knowledge-based, needs-driven studies and practical handbooks in the future.
