Conversation between Prof. Dr. Sarantuya and N. Enkhbold

During the conversation

Mr. N.Enkhbold said that during the last parliamentary elections many new and young MPs were elected and as a result a large number of new assistants and advisors to these MPs were appointed. In this context, he asked about the possibility of providing support for the training of these new staff as part of the project.

Prof. Ts. Sarantuya thanked Mr. N. Enkhbold for the invitation to the meeting and informed him that the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation has been active in Mongolia since 1993 and implements its projects in 3-year funding phases. The HSS has been supporting the drafting of Mongolian laws from the very beginning by providing advice.

It also declared its willingness to “offer educational events on the laws advised by the HSS to the newly appointed assistants and advisors of members of the Great State Khoral and to provide international expertise in the amendment of important Mongolian laws, including the Civil Service Law. The HSS has the appropriate specialists for this.”

Mr. N. Enkhbold expressed his thanks for the positive response and for the suggestions for cooperation and promised that in the coming days he would send a list of laws that the Standing Committee on State Building is involved in drafting. The HSS will be able to select the laws that it considers important and comment on them.

During the meeting, the parties expressed their interests in deepening their cooperation and exchanged views on other issues.
