Border Protection Authority in the Border Areas and Buffer Zones
The training was attended by over 60 border guard officials from the provinces of Dornod and Sukhbaatar as well as rangers and environmental inspectors from the Sums.
The training was led by experts from the offices of the Environmental Police, the National Forensic Institute, the General Border Guard, the local police, the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Environment and Tourism Center. The key points included the following:
Policy, strategy and cooperation on environmental crime prevention and crime
Current status of forest and meadow fires in the border areas and prevention measures
Environmental crime and violations in the buffer zones and future measures by the Border Guard to combat them
Understanding environmental crime and the importance of implementing imminent danger
Considerations in the procedure for the discovery, seizure and preservation of evidence and material evidence at the crime scene
Consideration of issues relating to reviews and decisions on environmental crime in border areas.
During the training, the participants had the opportunity to tackle the challenges of combating and preventing environmental crime in the border areas and the buffer zone and to solve specific problems.
