Visit to the National Human Rights Commission

Professor Dr. Felix Welti from the University of Kassel, doctoral candidate Amarmend Sainbayar from the same university, and Mr. Felix Glenk, the representative of the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Mongolia, visited the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia and learned about its work.

Professor Welti, a researcher specializing in social law, has been invited as a guest to the national conference on the topic "Participation of Local Government in the Implementation of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities," which will take place on May 20, 2025.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Commission, Ms. Sunjid Dugar, gave a detailed presentation on the structure, tasks, and legal foundations of the Commission, and explained key recent activities. She also answered the guests’ questions.

Professor Welti emphasized that it was particularly interesting to observe how a centrally organized institution for the protection of human rights operates in Mongolia – in comparison to Germany’s federal structure.
