Basic Structure and Concept of the Constitution

On the occasion of the Day of the Modern Democratic Constitution of Mongolia, all relevant institutions in the field of legal education and training in the country jointly organize the annual 'B.Chimid Competition for Scientific Lectures among Law Students and Prospective Law Scholars'. This year, 40 students and academics took part in the 14th competition under the above-mentioned theme.

After evaluation by the judges, the following presentations won in the "Legal Researchers" category:

 

1st place: R. Oyundelger "Consideration of the competence of the Supreme Court to officially interpret laws from the perspective of the basic structure and conception of the Constitution";

2nd place: S.Tserendolgor and O.Turbold "The legal force of the Preamble to the Constitution: its position in the basic structure of the Constitution";

3rd place: O.Enkhkhuslen and Kh.Gerelchimeg "Protection of subjective rights by the Constitutional Court";

Special award 1: A. Bodibileg "Tasks of the basic structure principle";

Special award 2: Kh.Buyanbat "The basic economic concept of the constitution as a guide in times of crisis".

The winners in the "Law students" category were:

 

1st place: B.Ariunzaya "Consideration of the contents of the constitutional amendment in connection with the principles of the constitution: comparative study";

2nd place: T.Emujin "Restrictions on the content of constitutional amendments - control framework of the Constitutional Court";

3rd place: T.Bilguun and T.Binderiya "Review of the constitutional amendment by the Constitutional Court: possibilities of determining the control framework by principles of the Constitution, tendencies";

Special award 1: B.Bilguun "State debt policy and conception of the constitution";

Special award 2: S.Sonor and B.Bilguun "Criteria for the review of judicial decisions by the Constitutional Court, their framework".

The competition was organized by the 'Chimid Foundation', the Faculty of Law of the National University, the Constitutional Court, the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the 'Rule of Law' Foundation, among others.
