Study
The legal landscape for rangers today.

Ms. Tseren Tuvshinjargal, a member of the Mongolian Environment Civil Council (MECC) and an expert in training and studies for the Mongolian Ranger Association, was awarded a scholarship by the Hanns Seidel Foundation Mongolia and successfully conducted a study titled "Current Legal Framework for Rangers in Mongolia.

The research focused on two key areas: "Working conditions and social security of rangers and state inspectors" and "Challenges in law enforcement and the prevention of environmental crimes." As part of the study, existing research on The societal standing of rangers.was evaluated, followed by the development of a specific questionnaire. Additionally, an in-depth analysis of international standards for the employment of rangers and relevant legal regulations that benefit rangers was conducted.

An additional element of the study involved training a total of 300 individuals, including volunteer rangers, rangers, and state inspectors from 28 districts across five provinces. The training focused on the "Implementation of Environmental Protection Laws." Both group and individual interviews were conducted during this training.

As part of the research, specific recommendations and a handbook for rangers were developed. The recommendations highlighted the need to establish an independent law for rangers or to integrate relevant provisions into existing laws.

Ms. Tuvshinjargal presented her findings at a discussion event titled "Current Legal Status of Rangers," which was attended by representatives from relevant organizations and interested citizens. She also considered the feedback from the discussion for her further work.
