About us – The mission of the Hanns Seidel Foundation

“In the service of democracy, peace and development” – this is how the Hanns Seidel Foundation describes its mission and its work. These words apply to its activities in Germany – and of course particularly in Bavaria – and to its commitments abroad.

Every new generation has to learn about democracy. Young people need to gain a clear understanding of political issues and how they are connected. Only then can they be motivated to get involved and accept responsibility. In short, civic education is a prerequisite for democracy.
